CCPM - Critical Chain Project Management
CCPM is the combination of Critical Chain schedule development and control with the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK).
CCPM shares the Critical Chain understanding of the reality of variation in task duration and dependence of tasks in a project network. CCPM is a probabilistic method, although the Gantt charts drawn for CCPM plans may look the same as deterministic Critical Path schedules. CCPM eliminates start and stop dates for each task, and consolidates the provision for task duration variation into buffers.
Why should I want to do CCPM ?
The primary benefits that CCPM delivers include:
1. Increase project success rate (to the triple-constraint of scope, budget, schedule) to 100%.
2. Reduce project duration by one half or more (with consequent positive financial consequences.)
3. Reduce stress on all project resources.
In addition, many users report reduced changes on CCPM projects.
